Heya   (・_・)

I love making interactive digital things that solve problems, that help educate, that entertain, that enable expressions of creativity, which are creative, playful, have keen aesthetics, are useful, usable, and robust, and I love creating them as part of a team.

For over a decade I've been making these things for and with others, initially in a startup research environment - then at a digital creative agency - and now more recently as a fulltime freelancer to agencies and startups.

Whether it's a website, game, app, tool, or something in between or beyond, perhaps we can collaborate!

The Disc

Narrative Puzzle
Exploration Game

The Disc is a narrative-driven, puzzle, exploration game that encourages the player to engage in lateral challenges in an attempt to solve a mystery.

Its entire game world is within and includes the physical object itself - a disc in its case.

The game explores the extent of 'multimedia' within a non-linear but cohesive and engaging narrative. Of all the game's features, the use of the Windows OS as part of the game environment is the most interesting. Uncommon forms of interaction were explored through the exploitation and subversion of the Windows operating system's functionality and ui/ux metaphors.

The Disc's world

The original trailer for 'The Disc' is overlong and in desperate need of music. Instead a screenshot storyboard is included below.

It is a good indication of the kind of puzzles the player encounters, from videos & animations, .txt files, audio files, coded images & messages, interactive minigames, aggressive browser scripts, to maze-like folder structures.

If for some reason you wish to play the game, feel free to send me an email.
