Yang Wong
Heya   (・_・)

I love making interactive digital things that solve problems, that help educate, that entertain, that enable expressions of creativity, which are creative, playful, have keen aesthetics, are useful, usable, and robust, and I love creating them as part of a team.

For over a decade I've been making these things for and with others, initially in a startup research environment - then at a digital creative agency - and now more recently as a fulltime freelancer to agencies and startups.

Whether it's a website, game, app, tool, or something in between or beyond, perhaps we can collaborate!

I love making interactive digital things that solve problems, that help educate, that entertain, that enable expressions of creativity, which are creative, playful, have keen aesthetics, are useful, usable, and robust, and I love creating them as part of a team.

I'm a creative full-stack developer who has been making digital interactive works for over a decade - initially in a startup research environment - then at a digital creative agency - and now more recently as a fulltime freelancer to agencies and startups since 2011. I've built websites, games, apps, tools, installations, and other digital works an agency would typically require.

I work primarily as a senior developer / technical lead to agencies. I also often take on secondary roles that aren't just development, and thus enjoy working with creatives and directly with end clients, from idea to launch.

Whether it's a website, game, app, tool, or something in between or beyond, perhaps we can collaborate!

Barney Vollans
Senior Digital Producer @ BCM Partnership

“In short, if you ever have the opportunity to work with Yang … do. To say that he is a talented developer undersells Yang on so many levels (although he is, a supremely talented developer). He is also an excellent communicator, a great thinker, a first-rate problem solver; I've never seen him stress or panic and I've never seen him complain (no matter how ridiculous the request). I would not hesitate to work with Yang again and indeed, I would go out of my way to do so.”

Matthew Ford
Division Director @ Auran Games

“Yang is a powerful and innovative designer, a real pleasure to work with. He has sharp, clever, playful ideas, a good graphic eye, and backs it up with excellent specs and prototype programs. He is flexible and cheerful to evolve the design. I'd highly recommend Yang for any design or programming role, especially if you want something with winning playfulness and style.”

Michelle Tungate
Group General Manager & CFO @ Khemistry

“Yang Wong is the best in his field. He has always been revered by senior management, clients and his peers at Khemistry. He was our senior digital developer as an employee and our first option for freelance contract work when he began his own business. As a Khemist, a perpetual trophy was named after him & he generously returns to our staff Christmas party to present the award to the recipient every year.

Yang stays abreast of innovation in the dig space ensuring he delivers contemporary digital development services for the dynamic changes in this industry. He project manages his own project plans and schedule from what must be a huge pool of freelance opportunities faultlessly. He nails a brief, and delivers a project timeline on time to budget consistently. If you want responsiveness, reliability, integrity, security and stability with your digital projects, I'd have no hesitation recommending Yang for your role.”

Dan Adler
Managing Director @ Next Thursday

“Some say, you hear pan pipes moments before you receive the staging link for approval. And, that he has a different watch for every day of the year. All we know is - he's called Super Yang.

Yes, Super Yang. Clients, colleagues, suppliers know him by that name and he lives up to it daily. I've never met such a down to earth character that floats around town and fits in with whomever he hangs out with with ease. Nothing's a problem, always available - even when on holidays in a Japanese airport. If there's downtime, he's available to make miracles happen regardless of the size of project.

Adept in all things digital, from mobile to databases. He's our go to guy when it comes to advice and execution. We'll miss him as he travels to the UK, but he can always call our place home.

We love ya Super Yang. Don't go changing - you're a rare species.”

Andy Fyffe
Managing Partner @ Khemistry

“Yang is such a sublime talent that his name has become a byword for excellence among our team here at Khemistry. I hesitate to put a role description on him; over recent years he has conceived, designed and developed mobile games, extensive sites, database-heavy applications, online advertising creative, animations - you name it. If it's digital, he can build it. He has a breadth of strategy, creativity, and technical capabilities I'm yet to encounter in another individual. And on top of all that, his integrity, work ethic, and team skills are second to none. So yeah, if Yang offers to work on a project for you, you'd be a fool not to choose him. I know this sounds over the top, but I just can't endorse him strongly enough. Delighted to talk specifics - just call me on +61 7 3852 5642. Cheers”

Ashton Ward
Managing Partner @ Khemistry

“Yang has been an integral part of our team at Khemistry for the last couple of years, and simply put - he's an amazing talent. Very reliable as a developer, always delivers above and beyond … and with solutions that are stable and robust. Yang's a great resource for trouble shooting or brainstorming solutions for clients and has a very wide understanding of best and latest practice online and offline digital technology. I am happy to thoroughly recommend Yang for any project”
